Deb Crowe is not only walking out her own dream, but she also takes the hands of others and helps them discover their own dreams. She’s particularly impassioned about reaching those at the mid-life point who are doing what they do, simply because they’ve always done it. She helps to stir the fire in the belly of people who feel bored and maybe even dead inside. She wants people to know anything is possible with a few changes in habits and by taking a self-directed approach.
She’s used to people telling her, “Well Deb, that’s easy for you to say.” But she knows how hard tending your dreams can be, when your mindset is your greatest enemy, because she had to learn how to quiet her own inner chatter. in her fifties now, Deb feels like she’s coming into the very best of herself and of her life.
We have a choice in whether we tend a dream or not. Fear is the great barrier for anyone who desires to do something different. We can learn to love the valley, because our best growth comes from that challenging place. Clarity is a muscle that needs to be worked every day, and our greatest clarity comes from facing our adversities (present and past) head-on.
Act in spite of what you feel.
Do your dreams scared.
Expect the bumps and plan to work around them and to move over them.
When you learn to overcome one obstacle or one emotion, it becomes easier to tackle the next challenge.
There’s power in the decision.
Give yourself permission to view the vision of your dream coming true.
Filling Needs:
- Are you trying to multi-task, and if so how is it working for you? Which area are you giving 100% to?
- Do you believe you were created on purpose, with purposes, in order to fulfill an abundant purpose?
- How are you caring for yourself so that you have the endurance and energy to tend your dreams successfully?
When your spirit is touched by God, you can do anything He has made you for and called you to do, even when His dreams seems overwhelming and too big.
This episode’s Dream Tending Tips:
- Guard yourself against squelching the dream and purpose you were made for.
- Exercise Agape love, the pure, selfless, and highest-form of love in your daily habits. Be willing to serve, and your dreams will begin to align.
- Lean in and engage with people when they are speaking to you. Communicating through authentic listening makes us more trustworthy, and when we are trustworthy, more gifts, opportunities, and offers comes your way.
- Remember what Deb Crowe says, “Self-care is not selfish—it should be part of your daily regime.” Take care of yourself cognitively, physically, spiritually, emotionally, holistically.
- Practice meditation for fifteen minutes a day: sit in silence, focus on your breathing, reflect on scripture, allow no negative thoughts to play in your head.
- Unplug from your electronic devices on a consistent basis.
- Seek something enjoyable you might have done when you were younger—something you may not have done for a long time—and commit to picking it up again. Dare to pick up your joy again and become an intentional joy-splasher.
- Choose to do what is good for you, with no concerns for how others live their lives. Your tastes may not be theirs and vice-versa, it’s okay to be different.
